Long-term results with a multiple synchronized-pulse 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser for the treatment of leg venulectasias and reticular veins
The long-pulsed Nd:YAG (1064 nm) laser has been shown to be effective in the treatment of blue venulectasias and reticular veins, with 64% of patients achieving 75% or more clearing of vessels after 3 sessions and feeling satisfied with the results.
Evaluation of a non-ablative, fractional 1565 nm laser for the improvement of striae distensae albae Telangiectasias and Reticular Veins (Brief Communication/ Case Report)
Striae distensae (SD) represent therapeutically challenging forms of dermal atrophic scarring. Treatments include topical ointments, medical needling and various energy-based devices. The use of a fractional non-ablative 1565 nm laser represents a safe way to treat SD albae by significantly reducing atrophic lesions and skin irregularities. Six months after the treatment, patients reported 68% improvement as measured by Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI).
Treatment of facial photodamage and rhytides using a novel 1,565 nm non-ablative fractional erbium-doped fiber laser
Non-ablative fractional lasers (NAFL) generate microscopic non-contiguous columns of thermal injury in the dermis to remodel collagen. After receiving three treatments at 4- or 5-week intervals, patients showed a statistically significant decrease in Fitzpatrick-Goldman Wrinkle and Elastosis Score (FGWES) after both 3 and 6 months. Most patients were satisfied after 3 months and did not report adverse events.
Sequential facial skin rejuvenation with intense pulsed light and non-ablative fractionated laser resurfacing in Fitzpatrick skin type II-IV patients: A prospective multicenter analysis
This study undertook a non-conventional treatment approach to skin aging combining non-ablative fractionated laser (NAFL) with intense pulsed light (IPL) therapies to improve skin tone and collagen deposition. This study evaluated the combined effect of same-day, sequential IPL-NAFL treatment and found gradual improvement on wrinkles over the treatment period, with about 90% of treated patients exhibiting improved appearance after 6 months.
Clinical analysis of port wine stains treated by intense pulsed light
Port wine stains (PWS) are formed by dilation and malformation of dermal capillaries without endothelium proliferation. Despite the improvements in lasers and light therapy for PWS therapy in the past 10 years, the ‘cure’ rate is only about 10%. In this study, 72 patients with PWS were treated with an IPL with synchronous cooling. Most of the PWS lesions faded significantly and the response rate in this series was 76.4%. Patients resistant to other forms of therapy also showed good clinical results.
Hair removal using a new intense pulsed light source in Chinese patients
This study found that IPL has short-term efficacy for removing unwanted hair without significant complications. Using Lumenis One IPL in Chinese women reduced unwanted upper lip hair by 49.9% after one session, 79.3% after three sessions, and 83.3% after four sessions.
Efficacy and safety of Intense Pulsed Light in the treatment of inflammatory acne vulgaris with a novel filter.
Intense pulsed light (IPL) has become a well-recognized method in treating acne vulgaris, one of the most common skin conditions. One month after treatment, 75% of the participants showed excellent or good results from IPL treatments. Inflammatory lesions dramatically decreased, and the severity improved significantly. The IPL filter offers effective treatment with minimal reversible side effects.
